YWCA Elyria Updates
YOUR VOTE COUNTS! Please JOIN US next Sunday, October 27 for "Soulful Sunday" for free food, a free ride to the polls, and a Democracy Town Hall & Rally with Tom Roberts, president of the Ohio NAACP! Our bus begins pick-ups at 1:00PM...please check with your church for your parish's pick-up time.
Right now, Americans are preparing for a BIG election November 5th, with critical decisions up for vote on the ballot nationally and locally. At YWCA Elyria we are deeply invested in ensuring that everyone who can participate in the hard-won right to vote, does. Therefore, we are dedicating our GOTV efforts to women, including young women, women of color, and those in communities that have long been overlooked due to deeply entrenched legacies of gender and racial discrimination in our social structures and institutions.
Your donation supporting YWCA Elyria is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. MAKE YOUR DONATION HERE
Regardless of political views or affiliations, this is a profound time in our nation’s history, of which we are ALL witnesses.
The Juneteenth holiday, as wonderful as it is, only goes so far to remind us of how we've struggled with the issue of race throughout the centuries.
