2025 Community Peace Summit

Please join us next Saturday, February 1st for the 2025 Community Peace Summit, hosted by Rotary Clubs of District 6600, YWCA Elyria and The Equity Center.

Formerly known as simply the "Peace Summit," this year's change to "Community Peace Summit" reflects a renewed focus on engagement and inclusive dialogue. This change emphasizes empowering local voices, fostering collaboration, and addressing unique community challenges. By centering on community-driven solutions, the summit creates a space for individuals, organizations, and leaders to explore strategies for building nonviolence, safety, and freedom from gun violence—uniting efforts for lasting peace, one community at a time.

This FREE, one-day community event focuses on peace and safety in our communities through thoughtful discussion and fellowship. ALL ARE WELCOME. You do not need to be a member of Rotary, YWCA Elyria or The Equity Center to attend. You only have to be willing to come together for a day dedicated to promoting peace and safety in our neighborhoods. Free breakfast and lunch are provided.

The 2025 Community Peace Summit is one of the ways we can reaffirm our commitment to grassroots collaboration and empowering local voices. Together, we will explore pathways to address the unique challenges facing our communities and forge meaningful connections that inspire change.

The theme of this year’s summit, “Together Towards Peace and Nonviolence,” captures the spirit of unity and shared purpose driving our efforts. This summit is an opportunity to explore innovative solutions led by local leaders and organizations. From school safety advancements and youth empowerment programs to gun safety advocacy and community-building through urban farming, these initiatives highlight the power of collaboration in creating a brighter, safer future.

As we gather, let us embrace the power of collaboration and the strength found in diversity. By working together, we can break down barriers, build understanding, and create communities rooted in compassion and harmony.
