More about this event:
Empowered by YWCA Elyria, ElevateHER! is a 2-hour celebratory summit for high school girls, emphasizing the importance of creating safe spaces, convening, and actively listening to girls' voices.
ElevateHER! consists of three key components:
1) Community Champion Clap-in
Members of the community welcome 9th grade girls into the auditorium by cheering them in, acknowledging and encouraging their presence. This moment emphasizes the importance of showing up and confidently taking up space.
2) Alumni mini-TED Talks and panel discussion - REPRESENTATION MATTERS!
The panel introduces their individual selves and how they took up space in Lorain, Lorain High School and post-high school. Panelists will then engage in discussion centered on taking up space in their current respective communities, followed by responding to questions from the audience via Mentimeter.
3) Lunch with Community Champions and panelists
Join community champions and panelists for lunch, providing 9th grade girls with the invaluable opportunity to connect with community members. This networking lunch aims to facilitate access to opportunities and resources such as leadership development, mentorship, internships, scholarships and more!
Let's be intentional and elevate the next generation of Lady Titans!
