ROTARY DISTRICT 6600 PEACE SUMMIT 2024
YWCA Elyria was proud to co-sponsor this year’s local Rotary Peace Summit on Saturday, February 17th at Lorain County Community College for an epic in-person gathering aimed at fostering harmony and unity in our community.
“Freedom isn’t Free — Create Hope in the World” was a community event dedicated to peace through collaboration, conflict resolution, and multicultural awareness.
Plenary Speakers and Presenters included:
Rev. Thomas Bowen, Director of Religious and Minority Affairs for Mayor Muriel Bowser, Washington D.C., on the importance of “Transformative Partnerships”
Benedict Giamo, Professor Emeritus of American Studies, Notre Dame, on “What Does it Mean to Be an American?”
Jen Miller, CEO, Ohio League of Women Voters on “Civic Engagement”

“Renounce/Denounce” Youth Violence Intervention Program
“You’re Not Hearing Me!” Intergenerational Dialogue
“Culture Wars” Disinformation
